Random information on the term “AGE”:

East Asian age reckoning refers to methods of counting personal age which have been used in East Asia for thousands of years.

In China, where the system originated, people are born at one sui 嵗/岁, marking the first year of their lifetime, and on New Year’s Day of the lunar calendar, one is added. That is, the counting of years for a person’s “age” uses ordinal numbers, not cardinal numbers, and marks the subsequent counting from the lunar new year, not from the person’s date of birth. This system was common in pre-modern times across the Chinese-influenced East Asian cultural sphere: China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and their diasporic communities around the world.

South Koreans are also familiar with “year age”, determined by the birth year and the current year. Eastern Mongolia has a different system for measuring a person’s age, which is based on the number of lunar cycles that have passed since birth (for boys; girls are measured from conception).[citation needed]
