Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (/ˈheɪɡəl/;[28][29] German: [ˈɡeːɔʁk ˈvɪlhɛlm ˈfʁiːdʁɪç ˈheːɡl̩];[29][30] 27 August 1770 – 14 November 1831) was a German philosopher and is considered one of the most important figures in German idealism.[31] He is also considered one of the fundamental figures of modern Western philosophy, with his influence extending to the entire range of contemporary philosophical issues, from aesthetics to ontology to politics, both in the analytic and continental tradition.[31][32]

Hegel’s principal achievement was his development of a distinctive articulation of idealism, sometimes termed absolute idealism,[33] in which the dualisms of, for instance, mind and nature and subject and object are overcome. His philosophy of spirit conceptually integrates psychology, the state, history, art, religion and philosophy. His master–slave dialectic has been influential, especially in 20th-century France.[34] Of special importance is his concept of spirit (Geist, sometimes also translated as “mind”) as the historical manifestation of the logical concept – and the “sublation” (Aufhebung, integration without elimination or reduction) – of seemingly contradictory or opposing factors: examples include the apparent opposition between necessity and freedom and between immanence and transcendence. (Hegel has been seen in the twentieth century as the originator of the thesis, antithesis, synthesis triad,[35] but as an explicit phrase it originated with Johann Gottlieb Fichte.)[36][a]

Random information on the term “OMEGA”:

Omega (originally, Delerium Tremens) was a former settlement in Nevada County, California, United States, first populated in 1850 by a single miner, J.A. Dixon, working a claim during the California Gold Rush. The town was located 3.25 miles (5.2 km) east-southeast of the present-day unincorporated town of Washington, California. A sister town, Alpha, located at what is now the site of the historical Omega Hydraulic Diggings, was about 1 mi (1.6 km) north of Omega. In the mid 1850s, following the introduction of hydraulic mining operations nearby, the town prospered. Omega had a post office (which operated from 1857 to 1891), and needed to convert a residence into a jail in late 1858.
