The practice of observing daylight saving time in Oceania is also mixed, with New Zealand and parts of southeastern Australia observing DST, while most other areas do not.

DST end delays one week during Carnival week. Only these south and central states use DST: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Federal District Brasilia, Santa Catarina, Paraná,  Goiás,  Rio Grande do Sul,  Mato Grosso do Sul,  Espírito Santo,  Minas Gerais and  Mato Grosso (some exceptions).[3]

Some regions in  Quebec, east of 63° west longitude, most of  Saskatchewan, and some areas in  British Columbia and  Nunavut (Southampton Island) do not observe DST.
