Random information on the term “ERAS”:

Eras is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Albert Boton (b. April 17, 1932, Paris) and Albert Hollenstein (b. 1930, Lucerne, d. 1974), and released by the International Typeface Corporation (ITC) in 1976. Eras is licensed by the Linotype type foundry.

A distinct and curious feature of Eras is its slight, 3-degree right tilt. Eras follows ITC’s formulary of increased x-height, and multiple weights from light to ultra bold, though because all weights are slightly slanted, no italic version of the font is supplied. Eras is further distinct for its open bowls on the characters a, P, R, 6, and 9. The letter W changes shape from a merged ‘double V’ shape in the lighter variants to the standard W symbol in the bolder variants.

The typeface has been widely used by Telecom Italia Mobile as a corporate typeface TIM stopped use of Eras in 2016. It was also used in the emblem and image of the 1998 FIFA World Cup , in the credits for the movie Caddyshack and in the video games Tekken Tag Tournament, Jet Ion GP and Championship Manager 01/02. The American Broadcasting Company (ABC) network used the font in its on-air promotion graphics during the early to mid-1980s. A modified version of the font can be seen on the cover of Motörhead’s 1981 album No Sleep ’til Hammersmith.

Random information on the term “MIDI”:

Black MIDI is a music genre consisting of compositions that uses MIDI files to create a song remix containing a large number of notes, typically in the thousands or millions. People who make black MIDIs are known as blackers. Originating in Japan in 2009, Black MIDI spread to North America and Europe around 2011.[citation needed] The style was well-received by journalists and musicians, who praised the visuals used to represent black MIDI pieces, as well as the new, abstract sounds made by combining piano notes together.

Though the two are unrelated in origin, the concept of impossible piano existed long before black MIDI, manifesting itself within Conlon Nancarrow’s work involving player pianos where he punched holes in piano cards, creating extremely complex musical compositions in the same impossible, unplayable spirit of black MIDI. Black MIDI was first employed in Shirasagi Yukki @ Kuro Yuki Gohan’s rendition of “U.N. Owen Was Her?”, an extra boss theme from the Touhou Project shooter video game series. It was uploaded to the site Nico Nico Douga in 2009, and public awareness of Black MIDI started to spread from Japan to China and Korea in the following two years. In its beginning years, Black MIDIs were represented visually with traditional, two-stave piano sheet music, contained a number of notes only in the thousands, and were created with software such as MAMPlayer, Music Studio Producer, Singer Song Writer, and Timidity++. The Black MIDI community in Japan vanished quickly because, according to Jason Nguyen (owner of the channel Gingeas), the group was “analogous to those TV shows where there’s a mysterious founder of a civilization that is not really known throughout the course of the show.” However, the popularity of Black MIDI transitioned into Europe and the United States due to a video of a composition uploaded by Kakakakaito1998 in February 2011, and shortly thereafter, blackers from around the world began pushing limits of the style by making compositions with notes increasing into the millions and using an enormous number of colors and patterns to match the complexity of the notes. They also formed the sites Guide to Black MIDI and Official Black MIDI Wikia that introduced and set the norm of Black MIDI.
