Random information on the term “SAFE”:
The Securing Adolescents From Exploitation-Online Act of 2007 (H.R. 3791) is a U.S. House bill stating that anyone offering an open Wi-Fi Internet connection to the public, who “obtains actual knowledge of any facts or circumstances” in relation to illegal visual media such as “child pornography” transferred over that connection, must register a report of their knowledge to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The act references US Code sections 2251, 2251A, 2252, 2252A, 2252B, 2260, and 1466A in defining its scope. Anyone failing to report their knowledge faces fines of up to $300,000. It was written by Nick Lampson and introduced in the House of Representatives on October 10, 2007. It was approved (409-2-20) on December 5, 2007, with only Republicans Ron Paul and Paul Broun voting against. Some commentators criticized it as overly broad, but Lampson’s spokesman dismissed these interpretations, saying that the act was not intended to cover Americans who had wireless routers at home, but only to target their internet service providers.
Random information on the term “WAIT”:
The word ‘Wait,” anciently spelled Wayghte or Wayte, is derived from the old high German wahten (to keep watch); it is common in the sense of guard or watchman to all the Teutonic languages, the German wacht, Dutch vaght, Swedish vakt and English watch. When used as a verb, its meaning is “to stay in expectation of”; as a noun, it denotes a minstrel watchmen.
When surnames were generally introduced into England in the eleventh century, those who held an office in most cases added its designation to their Christian names, thus: Richard, the minstral-watchman, who was known as Richard le (the) Wayte, afterward contracted to Richard Wayte. The name has since been spelled Wayte, Wavt, Wayght, Waight, Wait, Waitt, Wate, Weight, Waiet, etc.
Random information on the term “WAY”:
The WAY-FM Network is a national, non-profit radio broadcasting network in the United States that primarily plays Contemporary Christian music operating in 12 states (as of December 2016). It is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, while most programming originates in Franklin, Tennessee.
On July 1, 2013, WAY-FM ceased providing programming to non-owned stations via satellite, with the exception of the network morning show, The Wally Show.
WAY Media, Inc. has been in existence since 1987. The non-profit corporation began as a single FM radio station in Fort Myers, Florida.
In the early 1980s, Bob and Felice Augsburg were residing in Fort Myers, where Bob was working as the Program Director at WSOR, a Christian Radio Station formatted for older adults. Bob and Felice have said that they “were compelled by the burden to see a younger audience reached and Bob began producing a Saturday evening broadcast geared for youth.” This program, which aired on WSOR, became the springboard for Christian Rock concerts in the area and the impetus for a 24/7 station with this type of format.
