Abominable Snowman is the name of two or three characters in the Marvel Comics Universe based on the folklore character.

The Carl Hanson version of the Abominable Snowman first appeared in Tales to Astonish #13 and was created by Jack Kirby and an uncredited Steve Ditko. In order to capture the Abominable Snowman and make money from its capture, Hanson steals a cursed photograph. In the Himalayas, he was unable to get help in finding it as people warn him to get rid of the cursed photograph before the curse overtakes him. As he progresses up the mountain, Carl’s hair grows longer, his mind becomes addled, and he drops the picture as he becomes the Abominable Snowman.
